Olszewski policies not what community needs

The Dundalk Eagle - - BY THE PEOPLE -

The more I learn about Baltimore County Executive Candidate John Olszewski Jr’s positions on Section 8, sanctuary county status and the Home Act, the more I become convinced that he would be a great candidate IF he was running for Mayor of San Francisco or Baltimore City.

Admittedly, I don’t consider myself all that smart. Despite trying, however, I haven’t been able to come up with a single instance how any of the above does anything but lessen our property values and make our community less safe. The politicians aren’t the experts on these social experiments. We the citizens are! We live with the realities every day!

In this writer’s opinion, Johnny O gave the “political finger” to many of his neighbors and former supporters when he declined to appear at the Oct. 5 debate at North Point Government Center.

During his political career, Olszewski has found time to support Martin O’Malley, Hillary Clinton, Michael Busch and Ben Jealous in their political quests. Based on his Facebook page, Jr. has spent more time on the west side of the county than anywhere else during this campaign. However, he refused to make time to face his fellow Dundalkians and personally address important issues of interest to them. To this writer, Mr. Olszewski’s debate cancellation displayed an arrogance befitting a member of the “ole boys club”. I’m not sure I would have voted for Mr. Olszewski had he chosen to appear at the debate, but at least I would have respected him.
