Johnny O is still the hometown kid
Johnny Olszewski Jr. grew up here, taught here, proudly served as a delegate representing Dundalk and still lives right here in Dundalk. He has chosen to live in Dundalk and raise a family here. That’s why I’m confused by folks saying he’s left us behind.
Since June 2017, Johnny O has been on the campaign trail nonstop, meeting voters in every corner of the county, including here in Dundalk. In fact, his headquarters is across North Point Boulevard from the neighborhood he grew up in. I have seen him in Dundalk plenty of times and in other areas of our very large county. My friends have also seen him across the county. He works a paying job, has a family and runs his campaign. I am so impressed with his energy and dedication to keep doing all of this and do this well.
His priorities are our priorities: improving schools, creating jobs and revitalizing Sparrows Point, making government open and keeping communities safe. I want to add that we are very fortunate having a former teacher running for office. He knows what it’s like in real classrooms, in real schools and in real communities. He taught right here in Dundalk so he knows firsthand what is going on in schools in our area.
Teachers have many transferrable skills such as planning, being detail oriented and working with people. Johnny O has all of these skills and many others in addition to his experience in government as a delegate and other professional experience.
Johnny O won’t forget the hometown that gave so much to him — that much I know for sure. We’ve never had a county executive from Dundalk. It’s time to change that. I have full confidence in Johnny O as Baltimore County Executive! Go Johnny O!
