Bal­ti­more County Democrats seek male can­di­dates

The cur­rent Bal­ti­more County Demo­cratic State Cen­tral Com­mit­tee (BCDSCC), known as the Bal­ti­more County Demo­cratic Party, was elected June 26, 2018 dur­ing the Demo­cratic Pri­mar y Elec­tion. Elected BCDSCC mem­bers were sworn- in at a cer­e­mony on Au­gust 4, 2018 and will ser ve un­til the Pri­mar y Elec­tion in 2022. Ever y vot­ing mem­ber of the Cen­tral Com­mit­tee ser ves as a Demo­cratic Party of­fi­cial.

Demo­cratic Na­tional Com­mit­tee by­laws re­quire that ever y ju­ris­dic­tion in the United States at­tempt to have gen­der bal­ance among those in­di­vid­u­als ser ving as Demo­cratic Party of­fi­cials. Re­cent changes to the Bal­ti­more County Demo­cratic State Cen­tral Com­mit­tee’s com­po­si­tion has now cre­ated a need to add two male AtLarge mem­bers to re­gain gen­der bal­ance. Un­like elected mem­bers At-Large mem­bers do not rep­re­sent a sin­gle dis­trict, but ser ve coun­ty­wide.

BCDSCC is at­tempt­ing to fill the two va­can­cies with two qual­i­fied male res­i­dents of Bal­ti­more County and in­vites can­di­dates to ap­ply. Each ap­pli­cant must have been a reg­is­tered Demo­crat at the time of the last Pri­mar y Elec­tion. Mem­bers of the Nom­i­na­tion Com­mit­tee of BCDSCC are charged with mak­ing a rec­om­men­da­tion to the full Com­mit­tee of a new mem­ber who will ser ve as an “At Large” ( does not rep­re­sent a dis­trict) mem­ber of the BCDSCC for the re­minder of the cur­rent four year term.

Ap­pli­cants must be a male U. S. cit­i­zen who is a reg­is­tered Demo­cratic voter whose per­ma­nent res­i­dence is in Bal­ti­more County. In­ter­ested in­di­vid­u­als must sub­mit 1) a fully com­pleted BCDSCC ap­pli­ca­tion, 2) a re­sume, and 3) a let­ter of in­ter­est in­di­cat­ing their pro­fes­sional, civic and po­lit­i­cal ex­pe­ri­ence and why they are in­ter­ested in ser ving on the BCDSCC. Up to two writ­ten ref­er­ences may also be sub­mit­ted, how­ever, they are to­tally op­tional.

O. Box 19092, Tow­son, MD 21286 no ear­lier than Thurs­day, Septem­ber 17, 2020 and no later than 11: 59 p. m. on Wed­nes­day, Septem­ber 30, 2020.

All qual­i­fied ap­pli­cants who have com­pleted the ap­pli­ca­tion process on a timely ba­sis will be in­ter­viewed pub­licly on Satur­day Oc­to­ber 10, 2020 by BCDSCC Nom­i­na­tions Com­mit­tee mem­bers in struc­tured inter views con­ducted via Zoom, which are recorded. Once ap­pli­ca­tion ma­te­ri­als have been re­ceived, ap­pli­cants will be no­ti­fied of the ex­act day, and time of their sched­uled inter view.
