Church in Chap­tico to hold an­nual fall din­ner this Satur­day

Hello ev­ery­one. His­toric Christ Church in Chap­tico will hold its

on Sat­u­ray, Oct. 14, rain or shine from noon to 5 p.m. at the par­ish hall, lo­cated at 37497 Zach Fowler Road. On the menu will be fried oys­ters and ham din­ner for $20; fried oys­ter din­ner for $16; ham din­ner for $10; or oys­ter po’boy for $8. Fried oys­ter bas­kets, scalded oys­ters and baked goods will also be avail­able.

The par­ish mar­ket will in­clude church cook­books and crafts. Come out and en­joy a de­li­cious home-cooked din­ner and a day in the coun­try where you can tour the his­toric church that was built in 1736. For more in­for­ma­tion, call the par­ish of­fice at 301-884-3461.

I would like to wish a very happy be­lated birth­day to a re­ally won­der­ful lady,

of Chap­tico, who turned 97 years young on Satur­day, Oct. 7. She was born in 1920 and has lived in Chap­tico her en­tire life. All 10 of her chil­dren planned to be with her to cel­e­brate her birth­day. She spent some­time re­cently in the hospi­tal, but I am happy to re­port that she is on the road to re­cov­ery. Miss Bessie, I am so happy that you got to spend your very spe­cial day with your chil­dren. I pray you will be blessed with many more won­der­ful birth­days ahead.
