Li­brary closed in ob­ser­vance of Vet­er­ans Day

All three branches of the St. Mary’s County Li­brary will be closed on Fri­day, Nov. 10, in ob­ser­vance of Vet­er­ans Day. All three branches will be open for reg­u­lar busi­ness hours on Satur­day, Nov. 11.

Learn about dig­i­tal of­fer­ings

The Leonard­town li­brary will hold the class “I Didn’t Know the Li­brary Had That!” on Tues­day, Nov. 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Ex­plore dig­i­tal con­tent avail­able with a li­brary card from Over­drive, Hoopla and RBdig­i­tal. Learn how to ac­cess eBooks, dig­i­tal au­dio­books, magazines, and stream­ing movies and mu­sic for free. Bring a de­vice. This class will cover the ba­sics of us­ing Win­dows, An­droid, Ap­ple and Kin­dle de­vices to ac­cess li­brary con­tent. Adult com­puter classes are lim­ited to ages 16 and up. Needle­work­ers group to meet at Lex­ing­ton Park li­brary

The Lex­ing­ton Park li­brary will host Com­mon Thread on Tues­day, Nov. 28, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Whether you have been stitch­ing for years, or you just want to learn, join fel­low crafters who love all things fab­ric and fiber. Open to knit­ters, cro­cheters, quil­ters, em­broi­der­ers, cross-stitch­ers and any other kind of needle­work­ers. Bring a cur­rent pro­ject, min­gle with like-minded mak­ers, and swap pat­terns, ideas and tips. Ba­sic sup­plies avail­able, if needed. All skill lev­els wel­come. No reg­is­tra­tion re­quired.

Li­brary closed in ob­ser­vance of Thanks­giv­ing

All three branches of the St. Mary’s County Li­brary will close at 5 p.m. on Wed­nes­day, Nov. 22, and will re­main closed on Thurs­day, Nov. 23, and Fri­day, Nov. 24, in ob­ser­vance of the Thanks­giv­ing hol­i­day. All three branches will be open for reg­u­lar busi­ness hours on Satur­day, Nov. 25.
