Library closed in observance of Veterans Day
All three branches of the St. Mary’s County Library will be closed on Friday, Nov. 10, in observance of Veterans Day. All three branches will be open for regular business hours on Saturday, Nov. 11.
Learn about digital offerings
The Leonardtown library will hold the class “I Didn’t Know the Library Had That!” on Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Explore digital content available with a library card from Overdrive, Hoopla and RBdigital. Learn how to access eBooks, digital audiobooks, magazines, and streaming movies and music for free. Bring a device. This class will cover the basics of using Windows, Android, Apple and Kindle devices to access library content. Adult computer classes are limited to ages 16 and up. Needleworkers group to meet at Lexington Park library
The Lexington Park library will host Common Thread on Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Whether you have been stitching for years, or you just want to learn, join fellow crafters who love all things fabric and fiber. Open to knitters, crocheters, quilters, embroiderers, cross-stitchers and any other kind of needleworkers. Bring a current project, mingle with like-minded makers, and swap patterns, ideas and tips. Basic supplies available, if needed. All skill levels welcome. No registration required.
Library closed in observance of Thanksgiving
All three branches of the St. Mary’s County Library will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22, and will remain closed on Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov. 24, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. All three branches will be open for regular business hours on Saturday, Nov. 25.
