In praise of those who served
Above, members of the Leonardtown High School band march down Fenwick Street on Saturday during the Leonardtown Veterans Day parade. Between 1,500 and 2,000 people line the route to see veterans, dignitaries, military units, color guards, classic and antique cars, scouts, motorcycles and horses, as well as fire, police and emergency personnel and vehicles. At right, Jim Weber, a retired Marine captain, joins others in applauds as Capt. Christopher Cox, Naval Air Station Patuxent River’s executive officer, speaks Saturday at Helen’s 32th Veterans Day observance program near its monument site.
