Brush football game delayed by weather

Game vs. Berthoud pushed to Tuesday, Eaton game rescheduled

For the second time in a week, the Brush Beetdiggers have a new date for their week three game against Berthoud.

Though technically it’s week four now.

The football game between Brush and Berthoud has been moved to Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 27 at 4:30 p.m.. This is the second time the game has been rescheduled.

“Due to weather, tomorrow’s varsity football game at Berthoud has been postponed to Tuesday at 4:30,” the Brush Beetdiggers Athletic Facebook page posted on Sunday. “The JV game against Berthoud has been cancelled.”

The game had originally been scheduled for this past Friday before being rescheduled to Monday. Brush didn’t list a reason for why the game was postponed the first time.

Now, the heavy snowfall that’s covered Northeastern Colorado has forced another change.

This isn’t the only schedule change Brush has had recently. Originally, Brush was scheduled to play the Eaton Reds this Friday. After moving the Berthoud game to Monday, that game was postponed to this Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. That game will still be played at Brush High School.

The Beetdiggers currently sit at 1-1 following a season opening loss to Sterling and a shutout victory over Fort Lupton last week. As a result of their 1-1 record and not playing this past Friday, Brush currently sits at 10th in the

CHSAA 2A coaches poll.

Cesar Hinojos and Alejandro Maltos-Garcia have led the way for Brush so far this season. Hinojos leads the team in rushing with 120 yards so far this season. Maltos-Garcia is second in yards at 108 and has accounted for all 4 rushing touchdowns for the Beetdiggers this season while throwing for 2 more.

Berthoud is currently 1-0 and unranked in the CHSAA coaches poll. A victory over Berthoud would go a long way towards helping the Beetdiggers qualify for the playoffs. Eaton will also be a tough battle as they are currently ranked sixth in the coaches poll.
