Manuel “Amer­i­cano” Ufina Un­ciano, 84 years old passed away on Sept. 3, 2017, at Kauai Vet­eran Memo­rial Hos­pi­tal. Born on Feb. 19, 1933, in Magsin­gal, Ilo­cos Sur, Philip­pines, he was formerly em­ployed with Waimea dairy and re­tired from Kekaha Sugar.

He was pre­ceded in death by his wife, Neme­sia S. Un­ciano; par­ents, Catal­ino and Brigida Un­ciano; sis­ter, Vida Aschinger; brother, Jaime Un­ciano; twin sib­ling, An­gelito and An­gelita Un­ciano; hanai par­ents, Crisanta Ufina and Epi­fanio Tor­res; brothers-in-law, Alan Aschinger and Ben­ito Sarmiento; fa­ther-in-law, Luis Sarmiento; mother-in-law, Elena Sarmiento.

He is sur­vived by his chil­dren, Ma­ri­etta “Mars” (Jonathan) Oyamot of Hanapepe, Con­so­la­cion “Consa” (Neil) Pi­gao of Eleele, Eric (Tina) Un­ciano of Eleele, Edgar (Geri) Un­ciano of Hanapepe, Edel­wisa (An­thony) Cruz of Hanapepe; sis­ter, Bene­dicta (Everett) Vicerra Bru­maghim of Lani City; grand­chil­dren, Taysia and Jayson Oyamot, Kyle and Alyssa Pi­gao, Chastity Hada, Tyrelle, Tys­son and Tyreen Un­ciano and Austin Cruz; great grand­child, Hunter Kostjuk; hanai sis­ters, Tere­sita (Frank) Tor­res-Dino of Cal­i­for­nia, Pi­lar Tor­res of Philip­pines, Nora (Ger­ald) Tor­res-Ger­man of Texas; brother-in-law, Domingo (Cora) Sarmiento; sis­ter-in­laws, Eugenia Realon, Emerita Sarmiento; nu­mer­ous nieces, neph­ews and cousins.

Friends may visit with the fam­ily on Satur­day, Sept. 16, 2017, at Waimea Sa­cred Hearts of Je­sus and Mary Catholic Church from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. and Mass will be cel­e­brated at 10:30 a.m. Burial to fol­low at Kekaha Ceme­tery. Ca­sual attire.
