Start your engines for Spe­cial Olympics

LIHUE — Engines will rum­ble for the 15th year on Sept. 24 when the Kauai Spe­cial Olympics hosts its an­nual ben­e­fit ride start­ing and end­ing at Kauai War Memo­rial Con­ven­tion Hall.

Mo­tor­cy­cle en­thu­si­asts, trucks and cars are wel­come to par­tic­i­pate in the ride which will make its way to Waimea be­fore re­turn­ing to the con­ven­tion hall. A min­i­mum do­na­tion of $20 will earn a shirt. Reg­is­tra­tion takes place at the con­ven­tion hall from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. with the convoy leav­ing at 10 a.m.

Rid­ers are ex­pected back at the con­ven­tion hall at 1 p.m. for food, a silent auc­tion, and prizes. ••• The Garden Is­land
