An­thony Sires Tex­eira of Kapaa passed away in Gar­den Isle Health Care on Sept. 30, 2017, at the age of 84. He was born in Li­hue on Dec. 31, 1932; a Vet­eran of the United States Army he re­tired from Li­hue Sugar Plan­ta­tion as a Haul Cane Truck Driver af­ter 44 years.

Pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, Wil­liam Tex­eira Sr. and An­ge­line Chan­dler Tex­eira; broth­ers, Michael Tex­eira Sr. and Stephen Tex­eira.

An­thony is sur­vived by his wife, Cecilia P. Tex­eira; chil­dren, An­thony (the late Linda Kaau­moana-Tex­eira) Tex­eira Jr., Teresa (Jar­ret) Vil­lanueva, Lu­cia Tex­eira, Si­mon (Cindy) Tex­eira, Emma Tex­eira, Irene Tex­eira; 8 grand­chil­dren, 19 great-grand­chil­dren; broth­ers, Wil­liam (La­hapa) Tex­eira Jr., David Tex­eira, Aloy­sius (Les­lie) Tex­eira Sr.; sis­ters, An­gelina “Honey” (Lynn) Turner, Ros­alina “Sweetie” (Pa­trick Sr.) Lopez, Chanel (Mario) Cat­ba­gan; nu­mer­ous nieces, neph­ews and cousins.

A cel­e­bra­tion of his life will be held on Satur­day, Oct. 14, 2017, at St. Cather­ine Church with vis­i­ta­tion from 8 a.m. and Mass cel­e­brated at 9 a.m. Mil­i­tary Hon­ors will be­gin at 8:15 a.m.

Kauai Memo­rial Gar­dens & Funeral Home as­sisted the fam­ily with ar­range­ments.
