UH men’s vol­ley­ball team com­ing to Kauai

LI­HUE — The County of Kauai is among the spon­sors bring­ing the Univer­sity of Hawaii men’s vol­ley­ball team to Kauai this Fri­day and Satur­day.

Hawaii team mem­bers will host a clinic for mid­dle­and high-school stu­dents Fri­day at the Kauai High School gym.

“We have a num­ber of vol­ley­ball play­ers al­ready com­mit­ted to the clinic,” said Lau­rie Yoshida, the event co­or­di­na­tor. “But there is still some room left. In­ter­ested play­ers in grades 6 through 12 need to pre-reg­is­ter by vis­it­ing the Eventbrite web­site.”

The clinic for grades six to eight is at 6 p.m.

Stu­dents in grades nine through 12 may be split into two clin­ics based on num­ber of regis­tra­tions. They meet start­ing at 7:30 p.m.

All are in­vited to view the Green and White vol­ley­ball scrim­mage, Satur­day at the Kauai High School gym.

There is an ad­mis­sion fee of $5 at the door, which opens at 4 p.m. Prac­tice starts at 5 p.m. with the game start­ing at 6:30 p.m.

The H-Zone will have Univer­sity of Hawaii mer­chan­dise avail­able for sale at the game, and play­ers will be avail­able for an au­to­graph ses­sion fol­low­ing the game.

The other spon­sors are Tex­aco, Fam­ily and Friends of Agri­cul­ture, Alexan­der & Bald­win, the Ro­tary Club of Kauai, Bank of Hawaii, the Hawaii Lodg­ing & Tourism As­so­ci­a­tion, First Hawai­ian Bank.
