Su­per­in­ten­dent to re­tire

The Chel­tenham School Board ap­proved the early re­tire­ment of Su­per­in­ten­dent Dar­lene Davis at the Nov. 13 school board meet­ing.

Davis submitted a let­ter of res­ig­na­tion to the school board Nov. 5 to give the board time to find her re­place­ment, ac­cord­ing to an email is­sued by the school district.

The board is just be­gin­ning the search process for a new su­per­in­ten­dent and hopes to have one in place by the new school year, said Di­rec­tor of Com- mu­ni­ca­tions and Devel­op­ment Su­san O’Grady.

Davis will of­fi­cially con­clude her ten­ure June 30.

Davis could not be reached to com­ment on why she was reWLrLnJ. HRweYer, Ln D IRr­mal state­ment is­sued by the school district, Davis said in the months be­fore her leave she will con­tinue sup­port stu­dents and staff and col­lab­o­rate with her col­leagues and the school board to fill her po­si­tion.

“I have thor­oughly en­joyed serv­ing as leader and know the school district will suc­cess­fully carry on with its mis­sion of mak­ing a dif­fer­ence in the lives of chil­dren,” Davis said
