Directors sought in Cheltenham
The Cheltenham Democratic Committee is seeking residents interested in running for Cheltenham School Board of Directors in the 2013 elections. Interested candidates may contact Deb. Lower Moreland hosts battle of bands
Lower Moreland High School will host the Battle of the Bands this Saturday at 7 p.m. in the auditorium, 555 Red Lion Road, Huntingdon Valley. Tickets will be sold at the door for $8. The event will host local high schools including La Salle, Plymouth Whitemarsh, Wissahickon, Methacton, Academy of the New Church and more. Competing bands competing include: Electric Fire, Egocentric Plasticmen, The Vitals Andorro, Orphaned Android, Bulldog Brothers, Solid Ground and Path of Motion.
Registration set for programs
Registration for Cheltenham Township’s winter and spring recreation programs runs Jan. 12 to19. Brochures detailing the upcoming programs are available at the township building, libraries and community centers. Complete information is also available online under Department & Services > Parks and Recreation at www. cheltenhamtownship. org.
Registration will be held at the La Mott Community Center at 7420 Sycamore Ave. in La Mott, and the Rowland Community Center at 400 Myrtle Ave. in Cheltenham. Regular registration hours are Jan. 14 through 18 from 9: 30 a. m. to noon and 1 to 4 p. m. Special registrations are available on Jan. 12 and 19 from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. and Jan. 14 from 6: 30 to 8: 30 p. m.
Non- residents are eligible for some programs but at higher fees. Registrations will be accepted in the order WhHy DrH rHFHLYHG, Hxcept for non- residents. $ n HxWrD $ 5 IHH wLOO EH added to all late registrations.

Cheltenham Township Public Works crews will collect used Christmas trees during two weeks in January. Crews will collect trees placed at the curb from residences west of Old York Road Jan. 14, 15, 22 and 23. Trees will be collected from the east side Jan. 16, 17, 24 and 25.
