Foun­da­tion host­ing fundraiser for kids

Katie’s Foun­da­tion for Child Safety will hold its third an­nual night out beef and beer fundraiser March 2 from 8 p.m. to mid­night at the North Penn VFW, 2519 -HnNLnWown 5oDG, GOHnVLGH.

5DIflH EDVNHWV, JLIW FDUGV, prizes and more will be fea­tured for the fundraiser, which hon­ors the me­mory of Katie Lam­bert who was killed in 2005 when an un­se­cured piece of fur­ni­ture fell on her.

Tick­ets are $30 a per­son or $50 a cou­ple at the door. Tick­ets also may be pur­chased at www.katieelise­lam­bert.org.

Pa­rade aid set

Aim­ing to raise more than $55,000 needed to pay for the Abing­ton/Chel­tenham area’s an­nual, fam­ily-friendly, morn­ing-in­tonight In­de­pen­dence Day Cel­e­bra­tion of Thurs­day, July 4, the event’s not-forSUofiW VSonVoU, WKH GUHDWHU Glen­side Pa­tri­otic As­so­ci­a­tion, has sched­uled two lo­cal fundrais­ers for March and April.

The as­so­ci­a­tion’s yearly Food-Drink-En­ter­tain­ment So­cial is set for March 1, from 7 to 11 p.m., at the Glen­side Knights of Colum­bus Fla­herty Coun­cil cen­ter on Limekiln Pike, VouWK oI :DYHUOy 5oDG.

With food catered by O’Neill’s Mar­ket of Glen­side, the so­cial will also of­fer mu­si­cal en­ter­tain­ment and a va­ri­ety of door prizes do­nated by lo­cal mer­chants and busi­nesses. Tick­ets will also be sold at the Fla­herty Coun­cil on the night of March 1.

The sec­ond fundraiser, GGPA “Keep the Pa­rade 5un­nLnJ” 5K run and 1-mile walk, is planned for April 13. With an 8 a.m. start and pre-reg­is­tra­tion from 7 to 7:45 a.m., the run/walk will start and end at VFW Post 676, Jenk­in­town and Edge Hill roads, Glen­side. Both run and walk routes will wind through Glen­side streets, south of -HnNLnWown 5oDG.
