Foundation hosting fundraiser for kids
Katie’s Foundation for Child Safety will hold its third annual night out beef and beer fundraiser March 2 from 8 p.m. to midnight at the North Penn VFW, 2519 -HnNLnWown 5oDG, GOHnVLGH.
5DIflH EDVNHWV, JLIW FDUGV, prizes and more will be featured for the fundraiser, which honors the memory of Katie Lambert who was killed in 2005 when an unsecured piece of furniture fell on her.
Tickets are $30 a person or $50 a couple at the door. Tickets also may be purchased at www.katieeliselambert.org.
Parade aid set
Aiming to raise more than $55,000 needed to pay for the Abington/Cheltenham area’s annual, family-friendly, morning-intonight Independence Day Celebration of Thursday, July 4, the event’s not-forSUofiW VSonVoU, WKH GUHDWHU Glenside Patriotic Association, has scheduled two local fundraisers for March and April.
The association’s yearly Food-Drink-Entertainment Social is set for March 1, from 7 to 11 p.m., at the Glenside Knights of Columbus Flaherty Council center on Limekiln Pike, VouWK oI :DYHUOy 5oDG.

With food catered by O’Neill’s Market of Glenside, the social will also offer musical entertainment and a variety of door prizes donated by local merchants and businesses. Tickets will also be sold at the Flaherty Council on the night of March 1.
The second fundraiser, GGPA “Keep the Parade 5unnLnJ” 5K run and 1-mile walk, is planned for April 13. With an 8 a.m. start and pre-registration from 7 to 7:45 a.m., the run/walk will start and end at VFW Post 676, Jenkintown and Edge Hill roads, Glenside. Both run and walk routes will wind through Glenside streets, south of -HnNLnWown 5oDG.
Pre-run registrations are $25 per entrant, and $30 on April 13, and are now being accepted online at the GGPA website, or by mail to the patriotic association, attention: Keep the PaUDGH 5unnLnJ, 32 Bo[ 72, Glenside, PA 19038-0072.
Tax deductible deductions to the GGPA are accepted year-round and may be directed to the GGPA, Susquehanna Bank, PO Box 9009, Jenkintown, PA 19046.
