Elec­tion set for Lower More­land

Lower More­land res­i­dents cast their votes for the pri­mary elec­tion May 21 and de­cided who they would like to see in the gen­eral elec­tion for the board of com­mis­sion­ers and board of school di­rec­tors.

Repub­li­can new­comer Dan Heller is run­ning against Demo­crat in­cum­bent Jill Blumhardt for the Ward 2 com­mis­sioner seat. Demo­crat new­comer Sane Adam Leck­er­man is run­ning against Repub­li­can in­cum­bent Fer­di­nand Gon­za­les for the Ward 4 seat.

Demo­crat Com­mis­sioner Denise Ku­ritz is run­ning un­op­posed for the Ward 6 seat.

All can­di­dates for the com­mis­sion­ers seats will move for­ward to the gen­eral elec­tion.

Cur­rent school board mem­ber Bar­bara Breitman has de­cided to not run, so her seat is up for elec­tion. In ad­di­tion, three other seats are up for elec­tion. In­cum­bents Steven Geiger and Michael Mueller will run on both Demo­cratic and Repub­li­can tick­ets, while in­cum­bent Nathan Mu­rawsky will run on the Demo­cratic ticket.

New­comer Howard Patent will ap­pear on both bal­lots in the fall elec­tion, while Lance Wol­bran­sky will ap­pear on the Repub­li­can ticket.

The elec­tion to­tals for the school board, ac­cord­ing to unRI­fiFLDl rH­sulWs Rn WKH 0RnW­gomery County web­site, were recorded as fol­lows:

• GHLJHr rHFHLvHG 23.75 SHr­cent of the Demo­cratic votes and 26.06 of the Repub­li­can votes;

• 0uHl­lHr rHFHLvHG 21.25 RI WKH Demo­cratic votes and 26.76 per­cent of the Repub­li­can votes;

• 3DWHnW rHFHLvHG 17.5 SHrFHnW of the Demo­cratic votes and 21.13 per­cent of the Repub­li­can votes;

• :RlErDn­sNy rHFHLvHG 14.79 per­cent of the Repub­li­can votes, while Mu­rawsky re­ceived 30 per­cent of the Demo­cratic votes.
