Fu­neral mass for James “Jim” An­thony Car­ney, 65, of Lawton, Okla., was held Satur­day, May 18, 2013, at Holy Fam­ily Catholic Church with the Rev. mhilip See­ton, pas­tor, and Dea­con Jim Coe RI­fiFLDWLQJ.

A wake ser­vice was held on Fri­day, May 17, 2013, at Lawton Rit­ter Gray Fu­neral Home Chapel with Dea­con David BuQFK RI­fiFLDWLQJ.

Mr. Car­ney passed away VuUURuQGHG Ey KLV ORYLQJ wLIH, FKLOGUHQ DQG JUDQGchil­dren on Tues­day, May 14, 2013, in Ok­la­homa CLWy, 2NOD., DIWHU D ORQJ ill­ness due to brain anoxia.

Jim was born on March 1, 1948, LQ AELQJWRQ, 3D., to Thomas and Louisa (D’AJuQWD) CDUQHy. HH JUHw uS LQ APEOHU, 3D., where he at­tended St. Joseph’s Catholic School DQG KH JUDGuDWHG IURP St. Matthew’s Catholic School in Con­shohocken, ma., in June 1966. He joined the United States Army in April 1968 servLQJ KLV FRuQWUy SURuGOy IRU 11 yHDUV VHUYLQJ PDQy duty sta­tions over­seas and state side. Jim was hon­orDEOy GLVFKDUJHG RQ ASULO 1979 at Fort Sill and made Lawton his home.

James mar­ried Mary bliz­a­beth Schu­mann, his child­hood sweet­heart since the secRQG JUDGH, on July 8, 1967, in North Wales, ma. He at­tended Cameron Univer­sity, where KH JUDGuDWHG wLWK D B.6. LQ EuVLQHVV PDQDJHPHQW on May 5, 1984. James worked as a mar­ket an­a­lyst for South­ern Sales un­til his re­tire­ment on Feb. 23, 2011. He was a mem­ber of Holy Fam­ily Catholic Church and a mem­ber of WKH .QLJKWV RI CROuPEuV, wKHUH KH wDV D 4WK DHJUHH .QLJKW.
