Cheltenham Village bank robbed
The Sovereign Bank located at 500 Central Avenue in the Cheltenham Village section of Cheltenham Township was robbed by an armed man Tuesday, May 28, Cheltenham police reported.
At 10:05 a.m. a man entered the bank and went directly to a teller window, where he brandished a silver semi-automatic handgun, placed it on the counter and demanded, “Give me all of the money!” according to police. The robber also demanded money from the next teller as well, and both tellers turned over an undisclosed amount of PRnHy, SROLFH VDLG. 7KH WKLHI flHG Rn IRRW ZHVW Rn Laurel Avenue and though a complete canvas of the area was conducted by police and a K-9 unit, he was not found, police said.
The robber was described as a male of unknown race, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 5 inches, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a black Nike swoosh and the word “NIKE” in black on the front, an orange/red shirt under the sweatshirt, black pants and a black scarf covering the lower portion of his face, police said.

There may be a reward for information leading to the robber’s capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
