Chel­tenham Tigers take sec­ond in tour­ney

The Chel­tenham Tigers, a team of lo­cal 15/16 year old base­ball play­ers com­pet­ing in high level tour­na­ment base­ball this spring and sum­mer and with a URVWHU fiOOHG wLWh 12 ChHOten­ham play­ers, as well as a few from LaSalle, Ro­man and Fa­ther Judge, opened their sea­son Me­mo­rial Day Week­end with a strong de­but, even­tu­ally los­ing a heart­breaker in the Cham­pi­onship game of the Grand Slam Amer­ica Tour­na­ment held at Christopher Dock eS, to the In­dian Val­ley Storm, 6-5.

Strong per­for­mances were turned in by Cal Salazar, who pitched seven strong in­nings in the 7LJHUV 2- 1 vLFWRUy RvHU the Caribbean All Stars in the semi­fi­nal round and Gabe eof­fer­man and Jack O’Grady led the of­fense with key hits. The Tigers also de­feated the Brook­lyn Dukes, 7- 6, and the Storm, 6- 3.

The Tigers play Satur­day and Sun­day in the eershey at the “In the Net” Sum­mer Clas­sic.

RUN­NERUP... The Chel­tenham Tigers fin­ished sec­ond in the Grand Slam Amer­ica Tour­na­ment held at Christopher Dock High School over the week­end. The Tigers lost to the In­dian Val­ley Storm 6-5 in the ti­tle game.
