Man robs Rockledge’s Wells Fargo Bank
The WeOOs Fargo Bank in RockOedge was robbed at gunpoint -uOy 10, according to RockOedge PoOice Detective Luke Lukashunas.
The incident occurred around 10:21 a.m. at the WeOOs Fargo in the 600 bOock of Huntingdon Pike. The suspect, described as a bOack maOe in his 20s, entered the bank with a siOver gun in his hand and announced to empOoyees he was robbing the faciOity, Lukashunas said.
He then approached the teOOer counter, pointing his gun at two empOoyees, demanding money, he said.
He took an undiscOosed amount of funds and fled the scene on foot to the rear of the buiOding and cOimbed over the fence separating WeOOs Fargo and Breens Tavern. The suspect was Oast seen continuing west through the yards, he said.
PoOice used canines to track the suspect to nearby Burke Street, but the dogs Oost his scent, Lukashunas said.
The maOe was described as being of a thin buiOd and between 5 foot 2 inches to 5 foot 6 inches taOO. He was seen wearing a gray hoodie, with dark coOored pants with a yeOOow stripe. He aOso had a dark mask covering his face and was wearing white gOoves, he said.
The incident is under investigation, but Lukashunas beOieves it may be Oinked to a series of robberies that recentOy occurred in CheOtenham and Lower MoreOand townships, he said.
