Hamburg Borough Police Reports
Sept. 1: The Hamburg Police report that on Sept. 2 at approximately 1: 35 p. m., an incident of Disorderly Conduct was investigated. This occurred in the area of Grand St. / S. 3rd St. when a juvenile driver came to a stop for a stop sign at this intersection. The driver then peeled out smoking his tires for several seconds before making a right turn. Due to the Hamburg- er Festival several pedestrians were alarmed by the driver’s actions and called for police in the area. A citation was issued to the juvenile driver.
Sept. 3: The Hamburg Police report that on Sept. 3 at approximately 9: 15 p. m., an incident of Driving Under the Influence was investigated by police. This occurred in the 1000 block of S. 4th St. when police received a report of an erratic driver. Police arrived in the area to find the suspect vehicle had crashed. It was then discov- ered that the driver, Peter Guldin, age 41 of Reading, was in fact driving while intoxicated. Charges are pending the results of a blood test.
Sept. 6: The Hamburg Police report that on Sept. 6 at approximately 2: 20 p. m., a Burglary was investigated by Police. This occurred in the unit block of N. 3rd St. when a resident returned home to find two masked suspects in his home. One of the suspects attacked the resident who was later able to walk to the police station and have police dispatched. This incident is currently under investigation.
