BERKS CATHOLIC 3, HAM­BURG 1 » Si­enna Boyer had nine saves but it wasn’t enough as the Hawks dropped their Oc­to­ber 2nd matchup with Berks Catholic. Jas­min Piltz had the lone goal for the Hawks and was as­sisted by Kylie Clark.

HAMBURG2, MUHLENBERG2 » Emma Greenawald scored twice to tie the game for the Hawks in their matchup with Muh­len­berg on Oc­to­ber 4th. Si­enna Boyer had 11 saves in net for Ham­burg.

HAM­BURG 2, KUTZ­TOWN 0 » The Hawks were able to shutout Kutz­town in their Oc­to­ber 6th matchup. Veron­ica Cre­spo and Michaela Sturm each had a goal for the Hawks ( 5- 10- 1), while Emma Greenawald and Shawna Hauck each had an as­sist.

FLEET­WOOD 2, HAM­BURG 0 » Trevor Fe­g­ley had eight saves for the Hawks but it was not enough as they dropped their Oc­to­ber

3rd matchup with Fleet­wood.

HAM­BURG 4, SCHUYLKILL VAL­LEY 1 » Ja­cob Bausher and Harold Greenawald each had two goals as the Hawks topped Schuylkill Val­ley on Oc­to­ber 5th. Reece Adam and Alexan­der Mac­Don­ald each had an as­sist while Trevor Fe­g­ley had seven saves in net.

The Hawks are 5- 4 in Berks II ( 9- 7- 1 over­all).

Girls ten­nis

The Ham­burg girls’ ten­nis team fell in the quar­ter­fi­nals of the BCIAA Team Tour­na­ment to Wil­son, 3- 2, in Oct. 7.

Wil­son won the match in sin­gles with a sweep of the top 3. The match turned in the Bull­dogs’ fa­vor with a dra­matic 3- hour, 10- minute match at No. 3 sin­gles. Wil­son’s Ally Yu won in a third- set tiebreaker over Ham­burg’s Bre­anna Ul­rich, 6- 4, 6- 7 ( 5), 7- 6 ( 3). Paige Cincin­nati downed Hawks’ No. 1 Al­li­son Bashore, 6- 2, 6- 2; at No. 2, Chris­tine Noecker downed Mered­ith Haas, 6- 3, 6- 1

Ham­burg’s wins came in dou­bles, with No. 1 team Lau­ren Shebby and Jen Hoshauer ral­ly­ing by Emma Ap­pler and Bre­anna Cor­juc, 3- 6, 6- 0, 6- 2; at No. 2, Ha­ley Krav­ish and Sarah Kramer topped Olivia Xie and Alex Ka­tronak, 6- 4, 6- 1.


BERKS CATHOLIC 76, HAM­BURG 0 » The Saints over­matched the Hawks in their Berks II game on Oct. 6.

Berks Catholic led by 28 after one quar­ter and 55- 0 at half­time while rack­ing up 400 to­tal yards. Up against the state Class 4A pow­er­house, Ham­burg could only ac­cu­mu­late 39 to­tal yards.

HAM­BURG SWEPT » The Hawks were swept in their meet on Oc­to­ber 3rd, los­ing to Muh­len­berg 30- 27, Oley Val­ley 30- 29 and Read­ing High 32- 25. Levi Hayle fin­ished first for Ham­burg with a time of 17: 40. Wy­att and Shane Con­rad fin­ished fifth and ninth re­spec­tively for the Hawks.

Girls cross coun­try

HAM­BURG TAKES TWO OF THREE » The Hawks were able to win two of their three matchups in their Oc­to­ber 3rd meet, de­feat­ing Muh­len­berg 22- 33 and Read­ing High 21- 34 but lost to Oley Val­ley 37- 23. Quinn Holl ( 22: 07) and Brea Bor­rell ( 22: 21) fin­ished sec­ond and third re­spec­tively for Ham­burg who got their first two wins of the sea­son.

BERKS CATHOLIC 6, HAMBURG0 » The Hawks were un­able to get any­thing going in their Oc­to­ber 2nd loss to Berks Catholic. Veron­ica Heck­man had 17 saves in net for Ham­burg.

HAM­BURG 1, MUH­LEN­BERG 1 » Kylie Christ­man net­ted a goal to tie the game up for the Hawks in their matchup with Muh­len­berg on Oc­to­ber 4th. Veron­ica Heck­man had nine saves for Ham­burg who moved to 1- 6- 1 in league play on the year.
