Melvin Edwards, of South Fourth Street, Hamburg, is one of 7 Berks countians among a total of 11 state police cadets who completed three months of training yesterday and were graduated as state troopers from the State Police Academy at Hershey.

Private Esther A. Kershner, daughter of Mrs. Bertha M. Kershner, of Mohrsville, R1, has completed 8 weeks of recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island S.C.

Chuck Roast—69 cents a lb.; Chicken Quarters—39 cents a lb.; Pork Roast—39 cents a lb.; Sliced Bacon—49 cents for 1 lb. package; Potatoes—65 cents for 20-lb. bag; Cabbage-8 cents a lb. at the Acme.
