Mary A. Yefchak, 92, of Freeland passed away Sunday in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Hazleton following a short illness.
Born in Freeland on Feb. 4, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Baron) Yefchak and had spent the past 28 years in Freeland after moving from Vienna, Va.
Mary retired as a confidential secretary to the CIA and was a member of St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Freeland, before its closing.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her brothers, John, George,
Joseph, Thomas and Michael Yefchak, and sisters, Irene Yefchak, Ann Keogh, Dolores Wilson and Frances Yefchak.
Surviving are two sistersin-law, Arlene Yefchak, Freeland; and Lottie Yefchak, New Jersey; and a brotherin-law, Donald Wilson, Tucson, Ariz. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Memorial and graveside services for Mary will take place at a date and time to be announced later.
Harman Funeral Homes and Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting with the arrangements.
