Wanted Philly man faces new charges
A Philadelphia man wanted on a warrant was arrested on a weapons charge Thursday afternoon following a traffic stop, borough police said.
Joshua Peralta, 28, was charged with firearms not be carried without a license, registration and certificate of title required, and for operating a vehicle without a certificate of inspection after police Chief Michael Morresi stopped the vehicle for an expired registration near Broad and Dean streets shortly after 2 p.m., according to a criminal complaint.
The chief said he noticed the expired registration and inspection while approaching the vehicle and learned that a warrant had been issued from Hazleton for Peralta, the complaint reads.
When asked by the chief, Peralta said he did not have a permit for a gun he had in the glove box, the complaint states.
He was arrested and taken to Hazleton police on the warrant, Morresi said.
