Note that this year’s fall sausage sup­per has been changed to Nov. 4 to ac­com­mo­date the church’s cel­e­bra­tion of the 500th an­niver­sary of the Re for­ma­tion, which will in­clude a lun­cheon fol­low­ing wor­ship on Re­for­ma­tion Sun­day, Oct. 29.

The lun­cheon will be catered, so those in­ter­ested must sign up to en­sure enough food is or­dered.

The Learn­ing Min­istry Team is cur­rently spon­sor­ing a Re­for­ma­tion book fair. All the books per­tain to Martin Luther, from his bi­og­ra­phy to his im­pact and the ad­vance­ment of the re­for­ma­tion move­ment. Books are now on dis­play in the St. Stephen’s Room. Or­ders must be in by Oct. 31.

Do­na­tions will be ac­cepted through­out Oc­to­ber for Poo­dle and Pooch Res­cue of Flor­ida to ben­e­fit an­i­mals af­fected by re­cent-hur­ri­canes. Spe­cially marked en­velopes are lo­cated in the narthex.

■ Step-Up Ta­maqua is host­ing a spe­cial guest speaker Mon­day at 7 p.m. at Trin­ity UCC’s Founder Hall, 22 Lafayette St., Ta­maqua.

Guardian An­gel Re­cov­ery House co-owner/ di­rec­tor Dar­ragh In­gras­sia will share her per­sonal re­cov­ery story and her work with Lisa Kiehl open­ing the re­cov­ery house for women in Ha­zle­ton.

Park­ing is avail­able in the rear of the church. Founders Hall is on the ground floor. All are wel­come. Step-Up Ta­maqua is a project of the Ta­maqua Area Faith Fel­low­ship Net­work, a 501c3 non­profit. ■ Zion Lutheran Church’s culi­nary team will host a pump­kin so­cial Wed­nes­day from 4 to 6:30 p.m. or sell out.

Home­made pump­kin waf­fles and ice cream with caramel top­ping is the fea­tured dessert. Pump­kin chili and pump­kin pie will also be avail­able along with nu­mer­ous home­made items. Take­outs will be avail­able. Zion Lutheran Church is at Green­wood and Mauch Chunk streets, Ta­maqua.

■ Zion Lutheran Church, Ta­maqua, will host its sec­ond an­nual Trunk

or Treat fam­ily event Oct. 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. on Mauch Chunk Street, between Green­wood and Mar­ket streets.

Ta­maqua area fam­i­lies are wel­come to this safe Hal­loween event spon­sored by the outreach team at Zion.

■ Weatherly Area mid­dle and high school cho­ruses and bands are hold­ing their an­nual Christ­mas Gertrude Hawk candy sale.

The sale will end Tues­day. De­liv­ery will be Dec. 6 in the mid­dle school band room from 2 to 4 p.m.

Checks should be made payable to Weatherly Mu­sic Par­ents. No late or­ders will be ac­cepted.

■ The Weatherly Area Com­mu­nity Li­brary will hold a “Hal­loween Fri­day the 13th” story time to­day at 4:30 p.m.

Vis­i­tors can come make a fun craft, lis­ten to a Hal­loween story and en­joy a snack.

■ The Weatherly Area Com­mu­nity Li­brary is spon­sor­ing a trip to the Hol­ly­wood Casino and the Her­shey Out­lets on Nov. 4.

The bus will depart from Eu­rana Park at 8 a.m. for the Hol­ly­wood Casino for 4 hours, and at ap­prox­i­mately 1:30 p.m. will leave to ar­rive at the Her­shey Out­lets for 2 p.m. Those at­tend­ing will then have time on their own un­til 6 p.m. Ar ri­val time home will be ap­prox­i­mately 7:30 p.m.

The cost for the trip is $35 and re­bates will be $30 slot play and $5 off the buf­fet at the casino.

Reser­va­tions will be on a first-come, first-served ba­sis.

Th­ese 1¼ pound con­tain­ers filled with an as­sort­ment of cook­ies made by mem­bers and friends of the Methodist Church will sell for $8 per con­tainer.

Cook­ies will be packed on Dec. 14 be­gin­ning at 6 p.m. Mem­bers and friends mak­ing cook­ies should have the cook­ies at the church on Dec. 14 by 5 p.m.
