Fire mar­shal says blaze was set

A fire that se­verely dam­aged a home in Shenandoah Heights, West Ma­hanoy Twp., last month was in­ten­tion­ally set, a state po­lice fire mar­shal ruled.

Trooper Joseph Hall of the Frackville sta­tion said the fire oc­curred about 2:10 a.m. Oct. 30 at 191 Ohio Ave. Hall said the home, owned by Troy Dixon, Coal­dale, sus­tained ex­ten­sive dam­age.

A sub­se­quent in­ves­ti­ga­tion re­vealed that the fire started on the rear se­cond floor porch and the cause was “in­cen­di­ary in na­ture.”
