Fire marshal says blaze was set
A fire that severely damaged a home in Shenandoah Heights, West Mahanoy Twp., last month was intentionally set, a state police fire marshal ruled.
Trooper Joseph Hall of the Frackville station said the fire occurred about 2:10 a.m. Oct. 30 at 191 Ohio Ave. Hall said the home, owned by Troy Dixon, Coaldale, sustained extensive damage.
A subsequent investigation revealed that the fire started on the rear second floor porch and the cause was “incendiary in nature.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Hall at the Frackville station at 570-8745300 and refer to incident PA2017-1162850. All information will remain confidential.
