Tenant facing five bad check charges
A woman was charged with five counts of writing bad checks to her landlord for a residence that she and her husband rented in Butler Twp.
Maria Scalleat wrote checks from the account of her husband, Jason Slizofsky, and other accounts that totaled $13,553 during the year since August 2016, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Scalleat paid $4,000 in cash to her landlord for the residence on St. Johns Road so the debt owed for the bad checks is $9,553, the affidavit said.
She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Daniel O’Donnell in Sugarloaf Twp. on Dec. 18.
