City couple face food stamp fraud
A Hazleton couple face charges for obtaining food stamps or public assistance fraudulently, according to a criminal complaint filed by the state Office of Inspector General.
Brigida and Francisco Tineo of North Laurel Street are charged with false statements for reporting no additional household income while receiving public assistance. They applied for assistance in September 2016 and Francisco Tineo began receiving long-term disability from AutoZone in October 2016 and continuing, court papers said.
The couple allegedly failed to report the additional income and obtained $2,730.33 in cash assistance.
