Queen Anne’s Revenge

The Herald-Sun (Sunday) - - Infocus -

The pirate Edward Teach, known as Blackbeard, and his ship, the Queen Anne’s Revenge, are part of the lore of colonial North Carolina, and this shipwreck just off the North Carolina coast is believed to be Blackbeard’s flagship. This 18- by 24-inch full-color poster is an artist’s rendition of a French ship of the same class as the Queen Anne’s Revenge, with modifications likely made for use as a slave ship and later pirate ship. It also illustrates some of the scientific findings made in 2001, when it was drawn.
