Getting the “Kike” Out of the World Series

The Jewish Voice - - EDITORIAL -

There's this baseball star, Enrique Hernandez who plays for the National League Champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers, who chooses to use as a nickname ..... "Kike." As a thinly veiled cover-up by the media in its columns reporting on his hero status, his name is printed with an accent mark over the final "e" and the announcers skirt reality by pronouncing it Key-Kay. But not one mention that his name is actually a slur on the Jewish race. "Kike" is the ancient and current, vile hate word for ..... Jew. So where's the outcry from the Jewish community or from the hordes of civil rights advocates who pounce on everything resembling what they at any given moment consider "hate speech" against blacks, that this major leaguer has a chosen name that demeans, debases and denigrates Jews?

Florida Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, speaking with CNN this past Friday, called White House Chief of staff, Gen. John Kelly a "racist" for calling her an "empty barrel" when criticizing her for listening in to the President's phone call to a grieving widow whose husband was killed while on a military mission in Africa. "Th t's a racist term. We looked it up in the dictionary because I had never heard of an empty barrel." We emulated the low-brow Congresswoman and using Webster's New World Dictionary, Thi d College Edition, we found no mention of "empty barrel" but did fin "Kike" described as, "A Jew: a vulgar term of hostility and contempt." Planned Parenthood immediately jumped into the racist rant with a leader of that baby killing organization stating that Kelly is "part of a pattern of Trump administration attacking and undermining Black women." And then MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell accused Gen. Kelly of "dehumanizing" a black woman. But not one word about the name ...... Kike!

So, where is the pride of Jews who were chased out of their homelands and came to this country as penniless immigrants and are now pillars of this great nation, who sit back and permit their own people, their community, their heritage to be attacked and vilified over and over by outright racists and don't have the courage to stand up and not only answer back but fight back? Al Sharpton, who was a finalist in the 2004 Democrat Presidential primaries, back in 1991 challenged the Jews to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to his house and he'd teach them a lesson. When in Israel he said he was in Hell. And you know about the "Hymietown" usage by Jesse Jackson. But the Progressive, Liberal, Democrat Jewish community always came up with some politically correct lame excuses for planned "slips of the tongue" by these and other Jew haters. Blacks stand up militantly and do not countenance any signs of bigotry toward their people. Jews actually encourage such slander and hate verbiage by acting as "less-than's" with their silence and basically by murmuring apologies in the form of remaining mute in the face of bigotry.

So with LA in the World Series, look for this Kike guy to grab headlines without any mention by the commentators about his name. Just thinking out loud ..... ould anyone make it to stardom with the "N" word spelled out in letters as a monicker?
