Fire set in Ro­man­coke Pier bath­room; no dam­age listed

RO­MAN­COKE — The Mary­land State Fire Mar­shal’s Of­fice is in­ves­ti­gat­ing a fire that was set in the men’s bath­room at the Ro­man­coke Fish­ing Pier.

A Queen Anne’s County Parks em­ployee dis­cov­ered burned pa­per prod­ucts on the floor in­side the men’s room at 8 a.m. May 22 and called po­lice. The fire had burned it­self out with­out dam­ag­ing the 15’ x 10’ bath­room and stor­age build­ing.

The Queen Anne’s County Sher­iff’s Of­fice re­sponded and no­ti­fied the fire mar­shal’s of­fice, which ruled the cause of the fire as in­cen­di­ary.
