CBEC to host fish­ing derby in Grasonville

GRASONVILLE — The Ch­e­sa­peake Bay En­vi­ron­men­tal Cen­ter will host its first fish­ing event on its grounds in Grasonville on Aug. 12 and have opened reg­is­tra­tion.

The Little Bob­bers Fish­ing Derby 2017 will take place at the pond on-site, 600 Dis­cov­ery Lane, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with check-in be­gin­ning at 9 a.m. near the Vis­i­tor Cen­ter.

Open for chil­dren ages 5 to 12 ac­com­pa­nied by an adult at all times, awards will be given for big­gest Large­mouth Bass and Bluegill species caught for each boys and girls age group.

All chil­dren will re­ceive a goody bag, lunch, snacks, t-shirt and a chance to win other prizes.
