Wil­liam Paca Me­mo­rial set for July 4

QUEEN­STOWN — The Queen Anne’s County His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety and the Aspen In­sti­tute invite the public to this year’s Wil­liam Paca Me­mo­rial. This years speaker will be Dr. Robert Chiles, pro­fes­sor and lec­turer, depart­ment of His­tory, Univer­sity of Mary­land, Col­lege Park. His talk is en­ti­tled, “The En­dur­ing Vi­sion of the Found­ing Gen­er­a­tion.”

Join in this an­nual pa­tri­otic event cel­e­brat­ing and re­mem­ber­ing the life of found­ing fa­ther Wil­liam Paca. This spe­cial gar­den cer­e­mony is held 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tues­day, July 4, at the his­toric Aspen In­sti­tute-Wye Plan­ta­tion in Queen­stown.

The His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety is joined ever y year by the Sons and The Daugh­ters of the Amer­i­can Rev­o­lu­tion. Boy Scout Troop will present the Pro­ces­sion of the Col­ors and a se­lec­tion of pa­tri­otic songs will be played by the Ch­e­sa­peake Bay Com­mu­nity Band. Pas­tor Dane Rada of the Wye Mills United Methodist Church will give the bless­ing and bene­dic­tion, while his wife, Kristi Rada, will sing the na­tional an­them.
