Annapolis boat shows set to engulf City Dock

The Kent Island Bay Times - - Sports -

Tickets are available online now for the United States Sailboat and Powerboat shows in Annapolis. If you’re lucky enough to have some disposable income, good credit, or both, and you’re looking at boats, there’s no better place on the planet to look them over in one location.

Both shows engulf the Annapolis City Dock and environs and I don’t see how they could get much bigger. Just the gear alone is worth the visit. There’s also plenty of food and drink to be had, shops to peruse, and many other things to do in our capital city.

The sailboat show runs Oct. 5-9 and is followed by the powerboat show Oct. 12-15.

Brokerage Cove, on the other side of Spa Creek Bridge, is a fairly new addition to the powerboat show. This year it’s expected to overflow with more previously owned boats than ever before, all presented by regional boat brokers. It’s a short walk from the main show, but buses and water taxis are available between the two sites. The price of admission includes entry into both the powerboat show and Brokerage Cove.

At the main show, you can also find a Demo Dock where dealers and manufacturers will be conducting demonstrations and sea trials. The expanded location will feature new model boats, outboard engines, and stabilizing systems designed to eliminate boat roll.
