Peter William Rossing
HENDERSON — Peter (Pete) William Rossing of Henderson, MD, passed away after a six-month battle with brain cancer on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was 62.
On Oct. 4, 1986, he married his wife of 31 years, Faith Elliott Rossing. He was blessed with a daughter, Ashley Winterstein (Wes) of Sudlersville, MD; a son, Caleb Elliott Rossing of Henderson, MD; three grandchildren: June Elizabeth Winterstein, Claire Jolene Winterstein and J.W. Winterstein, all of Sudlersville, MD; and his sister, Mary Carol Rossing, lives in Annapolis, MD.
All through his life he loved God, his family, and waterfowl hunting. For 45 years, Pete was a self-employed residential/commercial/industrial painter. His true passion was for waterfowl hunting. He was the 1980 World Champion Goose Caller. He also owned and operated Winter Harvest Guide Service. He also enjoyed carving miniature decoys, was very active with the Delmarva Emmaus Community, and well known as the 4-H volunteer extraordinaire. Pete was an active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Ingleside, MD.
Consistent with his wishes, a Celebration of Pete’s Life service will be held on the family farm on Sunday, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m. on the family farm located at 3601 Goldsboro Road, Henderson, MD. Please join us for the remembrance ceremony. We hope that you will continue to fellowship with us by staying for a covered dish dinner in the barn. Meat and drinks will be provided, please bring a dish and a Pete story to share with someone else who loved Pete that you don’t know yet!
Pete’s fervent request was for God to “Use Him.” The family requests you love and seek God first, love and be kind to one another and share your faith.
Peter W. Rossing was born Aug. 30, 1955, in Baltimore City, the son of the late Charles Kenneth Rossing and Regina G. “Mullen” Rossing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara LaClair; and one brother-in-law, Eugene Elliott. Peter was a 1974 graduate of Severna Park High School.
