HEN­DER­SON — Peter (Pete) Wil­liam Ross­ing of Hen­der­son, MD, passed away af­ter a six-month bat­tle with brain can­cer on Wed­nes­day, Oct. 4, 2017, at his home, sur­rounded by his fam­ily. He was 62.

On Oct. 4, 1986, he mar­ried his wife of 31 years, Faith El­liott Ross­ing. He was blessed with a daugh­ter, Ash­ley Winterstein (Wes) of Sudlersville, MD; a son, Caleb El­liott Ross­ing of Hen­der­son, MD; three grand­chil­dren: June El­iz­a­beth Winterstein, Claire Jo­lene Winterstein and J.W. Winterstein, all of Sudlersville, MD; and his sis­ter, Mary Carol Ross­ing, lives in An­napo­lis, MD.

All through his life he loved God, his fam­ily, and wa­ter­fowl hunt­ing. For 45 years, Pete was a self-em­ployed res­i­den­tial/com­mer­cial/in­dus­trial painter. His true pas­sion was for wa­ter­fowl hunt­ing. He was the 1980 World Cham­pion Goose Caller. He also owned and op­er­ated Win­ter Har­vest Guide Ser­vice. He also en­joyed carving minia­ture de­coys, was very ac­tive with the Del­marva Em­maus Com­mu­nity, and well known as the 4-H vol­un­teer ex­traor­di­naire. Pete was an ac­tive mem­ber of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in In­gle­side, MD.

Con­sis­tent with his wishes, a Cel­e­bra­tion of Pete’s Life ser­vice will be held on the fam­ily farm on Sun­day, Oct. 29, at 2 p.m. on the fam­ily farm lo­cated at 3601 Golds­boro Road, Hen­der­son, MD. Please join us for the re­mem­brance cer­e­mony. We hope that you will con­tinue to fel­low­ship with us by stay­ing for a cov­ered dish din­ner in the barn. Meat and drinks will be pro­vided, please bring a dish and a Pete story to share with some­one else who loved Pete that you don’t know yet!

Pete’s fer­vent re­quest was for God to “Use Him.” The fam­ily re­quests you love and seek God first, love and be kind to one an­other and share your faith.

Peter W. Ross­ing was born Aug. 30, 1955, in Bal­ti­more City, the son of the late Charles Ken­neth Ross­ing and Regina G. “Mullen” Ross­ing. In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, he was pre­ceded in death by one sis­ter, Bar­bara LaClair; and one brother-in-law, Eu­gene El­liott. Peter was a 1974 grad­u­ate of Sev­erna Park High School.
