Mil­tec Bat­tery Di­vi­sion adds chemist

STEVENSVILLE — Mil­tec Cor­po­ra­tion, 146 Log Ca­noe Cir­cle, wel­comes re­search and de­vel­op­ment chemist Allen Shari­aty as the new­est mem­ber of the Bat­tery Di­vi­sion.

Prior to Mil­tec, he worked as a Re­search Chemist at the In­sti­tute for En­ergy Tech­nol­ogy in Nor­way and a Re­search Tech­ni­cian at the Univer­sity of Ken­tucky. In th­ese po­si­tions, he gained valu­able ex­pe­ri­ence in the ap­pli­ca­tion of binders in lithium ion bat­ter­ies, as well as im­ple­ment­ing spray coat­ing tech­niques for the fab­ri­ca­tion of bat­tery elec­trodes.

Shari­aty grad­u­ated with a Bach­e­lor of Sci­ence in Chem­istry from the Univer­sity of Ken­tucky and is the pri­mary in­ven­tor on a pend­ing patent. The re­search he did at the Univer­sity re­sulted in an op­por­tu­nity for Sharaity to present at the 2016 In­ter­na­tional Meet­ing on Lithium Bat­ter­ies, a pre­mier in­ter­na­tional con­fer­ence on the state of lithium bat­tery sci­ence and tech­nol­ogy.

Shari­aty is re­lo­cat­ing from Lex­ing­ton, Ky., and is look­ing for ward to mak­ing Mar yland his home.

Mil­tec Pres­i­dent Bob Bland­ford said, “Th­ese are ex­cit­ing times for our Bat­tery Di­vi­sion and we are look­ing for ward to learn­ing from Allen and ben­e­fit­ing from his bat­tery tech­nol­ogy ex­per­tise.”
