CH­ESTER — Sharon Louise Humphries of Ch­ester, MD, de­parted this life on March 26, 2018, at Com­pass Re­gional Hos­pice in Centreville. She was 71.

Born on Smith Is­land, MD, on March 25, 1947, she was the daugh­ter of the late Calvin Pruitt Evans of Sev­erna Park, MD, and the late Louise Cain Evans, of Millersville, MD.

Sharon grad­u­ated from Glen Burnie High School in 1965 and built her ca­reer as a Reg­is­tered Nurse. Af­ter liv­ing in Thorn­ton, CO, for three years, she moved to Ch­ester, MD, in 1978, where she raised her fam­ily and con­tin­ued her nurs­ing ca­reer un­til she be­came ill in 2002. She en­joyed art, mak­ing crafts, do­ing puz­zles, watch­ing wildlife, and spend­ing time with her fam­ily and friends.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band, Philip Humphries, whom she mar­ried March 26, 1983; chil­dren: Larry Jor­dan (Bethany), of Gra­sonville; Rhonda Bless­ing (Al­lan), of Den­ton; Al­li­son Humphries, of Ch­ester; Chad Humphries (Court­ney Sher­wood), of Ch­ester; 16 grand­chil­dren; four great­grand­chil­dren; her brothers: Wayne Evans (Kathy), of Reis­ter­stown; Bruce Evans (Diane), of Port St. Lu­cie, FL; her sis­ter, Carol Lester, of Lans­downe; and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews. In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, she was pre­de­ceased by a son, Don­ald Jor­dan; and a daugh­ter, Ros­alyn Jor­dan Guz­man.

A me­mo­rial will be held 3 p.m. March 31 at East­ern Shore Bap­tist Church in Gra­sonville, MD.
