Sharon Louise Humphries
CHESTER — Sharon Louise Humphries of Chester, MD, departed this life on March 26, 2018, at Compass Regional Hospice in Centreville. She was 71.
Born on Smith Island, MD, on March 25, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Pruitt Evans of Severna Park, MD, and the late Louise Cain Evans, of Millersville, MD.
Sharon graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1965 and built her career as a Registered Nurse. After living in Thornton, CO, for three years, she moved to Chester, MD, in 1978, where she raised her family and continued her nursing career until she became ill in 2002. She enjoyed art, making crafts, doing puzzles, watching wildlife, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Philip Humphries, whom she married March 26, 1983; children: Larry Jordan (Bethany), of Grasonville; Rhonda Blessing (Allan), of Denton; Allison Humphries, of Chester; Chad Humphries (Courtney Sherwood), of Chester; 16 grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; her brothers: Wayne Evans (Kathy), of Reisterstown; Bruce Evans (Diane), of Port St. Lucie, FL; her sister, Carol Lester, of Lansdowne; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Donald Jordan; and a daughter, Rosalyn Jordan Guzman.
A memorial will be held 3 p.m. March 31 at Eastern Shore Baptist Church in Grasonville, MD.
