Book schol­ar­ship of­fered to grad­u­at­ing se­niors

CEN­TRE­VILLE — Ap­pli­ca­tions are now be­ing ac­cepted for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Cel­e­bra­tion Com­mit­tee’s 2018 Book Schol­ar­ship.

The dead­line to sub­mit a com­pleted ap­pli­ca­tion is April 15.

Schol­ar­ship ap­pli­cants must be a grad­u­at­ing se­nior from Queen Anne’s County School or Kent Is­land High School. Schol­ar­ships are awarded based on need and how well ap­pli­cants meet the sub­mis­sion guide­lines.

El­i­gi­bil­ity re­quire­ments in­clude: the stu­dent must be an African-Amer­i­can male or fe­male who plans to enter col­lege the up­com­ing semester; holds a grade point av­er­age of C-plus or bet­ter; and the funds will be used for text­books and school sup­plies.

An in­ter­view may be re­quested by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Cel­e­bra­tion Com­mit­tee.
