STEVENSVILLE — Chesapeake Sport Pilot is offering a twoday ground school class from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, and Sunday, Nov. 11, at Bay Bridge Airport. The class will cover all of the knowledge a drone operator needs to know to both fly safely and legally in the national airspace system and pass the remote aircraft operator’s exam.

“While the remote aircraft operators exam and certificate are primarily required for anyone wishing to operate their drone for business, this class is designed to be a great help to the hobbyist as well as the professional,” said Chief Flight Instructor Helen Woods.

“Anyone who takes this class will learn about the national airspace system and the rules for safely and legally operating drones in the United States. Hobbyists who take this class and then pass their remote aircraft operator’s exam will also earn expanded privileges and be able to use their drones for things that might make them few dollars, like photographing someone’s house or boat.”

This test prep class is $299. To register, call 410-604-1717. Gift certificates for the class are also available. Chesapeake Sport Pilot is also willing to bring this class to area businesses and government agencies who have multiple employees they need trained.
