Dropped cell phone leads to crash on Pricetown Road

Vehicle struck pole, went down embankment and rolled

A vehicle struck a pole, went down an embankment and rolled after the teen driver became distracted while looking for a dropped cell phone.

State Police Reading report that at 11:12 p.m. on Feb. 17, Jenna Treese, 18, Fleetwood, was driving east on Pricetown Road when she dropped her cell phone and looked for it. At this time, her 2009 Toyota Sienna traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a telephone pole. After striking the pole, the vehicle traveled down an embankment and rolled onto its driver’s side.

Treese and her 16-yearold passenger for transporte­d to the hospital for possible injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts.

Treese was issued a citation for careless driving for looking for her cell phone after dropping it and for not driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Assisting at the scene were Ruscombman­or Fire Company and Alsace Fire Company.
