To the editor
I am a student at Kutztown Area Middle School and I am conducting research for National History Day, a year long competition in which students select a topic related to the annual theme and create a project based on their research. This year’s theme is “Taking a Stand in History” and my topic is the German-American Bund, which was a group active in this area during WW II.
The leader was Fritz Kuhn, who was arrested in 1939 at Schlenker’s Esso Station along Old Route 22. I am asking your readers if they know anybody in the area who was a member of the Bund, remembers the existence of the Bund, or attended one of the youth camps in the area. Anyone with information about the German-American Bund should please contact me at email@example.com. In advance, thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
