Twelve for­mer troop­ers hon­ored

Dur­ing the re­cent Feb. 21 Troop­ers Lodge Din­ner and Leg­isla­tive Re­cep­tion at the Ro­man De­light Res­tau­rant near Or­wigs­burg, 12 re­tired mem­bers of Trooper Mel­ley Lodge were hon­ored for their com­bined ser­vice of more than 280 years with the Penn­syl­va­nia State Po­lice.

The re­cently separated depart­ment mem­bers, who each re­ceived recog­ni­tion from the Na­tional Fraternal Or­der of Po­lice, the Penn­syl­va­nia State Troop­ers As­so­ci­a­tion, the Na­tional Troop­ers Coali­tion, the Penn­syl­va­nia State Lodge, and Trooper Mel­ley Lodge at the event, were David M. Mayes of Pine Grove, Michael J. Kowal­ick of Sink­ing Spring, Chris M. Boehmer of Bethel, Edward J. Lizewski of Pine Grove, Barry L. Whit­moyer of Sink­ing Spring, Mark S. Tice of Le­banon, Brian K. Bray of Le­banon, Kevin J. Bren­nan of Min­ersville, Robert W. Herb of Har­ris­burg, David M. Takach of Har­ris­burg, James J. Marasco of Blan­don, and Paul M. Smith of Wy­omiss­ing.

Also, ten mem­bers of the Penn­syl­va­nia Gen­eral As­sem­bly were among those present at the an­nual event hon­or­ing for­mer mem­bers of the Penn­syl­va­nia State Po­lice for their ser­vice with the Com­mon­wealth. Present were Penn­syl­va­nia State Fraternal Or­der of Po­lice Lodge Sec­re­tary Joseph A. Re­gan; State Se­na­tor Scott R. Wag­ner of York County; State Se­na­tor David G. Ar­gall of Berks and Schuylkill Coun­ties; State Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Fran­cis X. Ryan of Le­banon County; State Rep­re­sen­ta­tive Neal P.
