This program is a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week to introduce kids to one hour of computer science and computer programing. Each session will include an introduction to coding elements. Space is limited and registration is required. Participants must bring their own tablet, smart phone or laptop. Call the library, or stop in to sign up. March 7 Preschool Storytime with Mama Pat: 11 a.m. - noon. Children from ages 2-5 are welcome to join Mama Pat for stories, songs, giggles and games! March 16 Adoption, foster care: A free informational session on adoption and child foster care will be held at 6 p.m. March 16 at Diakon Adoption & Foster Care, located on the campus of The Lutheran Home at Topton, One S. Home Ave., Topton. Diakon Adoption & Foster Care staff will explain foster parenting as well as the processes involved in adopting a child. Attendees also will learn about children available for adoption as well as the foster-to-adopt program and a new service providing foster care for medically fragile children.
