This pro­gram is a na­tion­wide ini­tia­tive by Com­puter Sci­ence Ed­u­ca­tion Week to in­tro­duce kids to one hour of com­puter sci­ence and com­puter pro­gram­ing. Each ses­sion will in­clude an in­tro­duc­tion to cod­ing el­e­ments. Space is lim­ited and regis­tra­tion is re­quired. Par­tic­i­pants must bring their own tablet, smart phone or lap­top. Mr. John Sch­moyer will present the pro­gram 100 Year His­tory of the Philadel­phia Phillies. March 16 Adop­tion, fos­ter care: A free in­for­ma­tional ses­sion on adop­tion and child fos­ter care will be held at 6 p.m. March 16 at Di­akon Adop­tion & Fos­ter Care, lo­cated on the cam­pus of The Lutheran Home at Top­ton, One S. Home Ave., Top­ton. Di­akon Adop­tion & Fos­ter Care staff will ex­plain fos­ter par­ent­ing as well as the pro­cesses in­volved in adopt­ing a child. At­ten­dees also will learn about chil­dren avail­able for adop­tion as well as the fos­ter-to-adopt pro­gram and a new ser­vice pro­vid­ing fos­ter care for med­i­cally frag­ile chil­dren.
