Lenore S. (Schiebler) Muir, 87, re­cently of RI, for­merly of Read­ing PA, Saco, ME, Carver, MA, Man­hat­tan, NY, and Ham­burg PA, died Mon­day, Fe­bru­ary 27, 2017, peace­fully at home, af­ter a long ill­ness, sur­rounded by her lov­ing fam­ily.

Born 1929, daugh­ter of Al­win R. Schiebler and Char­lotte E. Schiebler (Sch­möle) of Ham­burg, PA. Lenore is pre­ceded in death by her brother Klaus Schiebler, for­mer spouse Robert F. Muir, and son Ron­ald L. Muir.

Lenore was 10th in her class at Ham­burg HS, an avid gar­dener, reader, and de­voted mother and grand­mother. Lenore went to Nurs­ing school at Mas­sachusetts Gen­eral Hospi­tal in Bos­ton. Lenore had a ca­reer as a reg­is­tered nurse work­ing in the NYC school sys­tem, Mayflower Care in Carver MA, and at Sweetser Home in Saco, ME be­fore re­tir­ing.

Lenore was a lov­ing mother who had a gen­er­ous heart, and an in­domitable spirit, over­com­ing many dif­fi­cult ob­sta­cles in her life’s jour­ney. A spirit she passed on to her sons and grand­chil­dren.

Lenore is sur­vived by her younger son Robert Muir, of Saint Johns­bury, VT, daugh­ter in law Mau­reen Muir of Prov­i­dence RI, and their three chil­dren, Devin, Owen, and Avery Muir, of Prov­i­dence, RI, and Ron­ald and Cindy Muir’s three chil­dren, Brian, Kate, and Ben Muir, brother Gerold Schiebler, nephew Mark, and nieces Mar­cie, Kris­ten, Bet­tina, Wanda, Michelle, and long-time com­pan­ion, James “Al” Zweizig.
