Miller-Key­stone hon­ors 20 lo­cal blood drive hosts

Miller-Key­stone Blood Cen­ter has rec­og­nized 20 area or­ga­ni­za­tions for their com­mit­ment to the health and wel­fare of our com­mu­nity through blood drive spon­sor­ship.

“Our Lo­cal Lead­ers cam­paign rec­og­nizes those schools, busi­nesses, church groups and other or­ga­ni­za­tions who go above and be­yond the call of duty to sup­port their com­mu­nity,” said Deb Otto, Di­rec­tor of Donor Re­sources, Miller-Key­stone Blood Cen­ter. “By host­ing blood drives with our re­gional blood provider, these or­ga­ni­za­tions are also sup­port­ing the MKBC Mis­sion State­ment, which is ‘Sav­ing lives by part­ner­ing with our com­mu­nity to pro­vide a con­tin­u­ous sup­ply of blood prod­ucts and ser­vices’.”

The fol­low­ing groups were ac­knowl­edged through Miller-Key­stone Blood Cen­ter’s Lo­cal Lead­ers cam­paign for col­lect­ing at least 200 life­sav­ing units dur­ing the 2016 cal­en­dar year. The Blood Cen­ter has rec­og­nized these groups with a plaque pre­sen­ta­tion at their school, church or place of busi­ness: East Penn Man­u­fac­tur­ing – 962 Units, Le­high Val­ley Health Net­work – 943 Units, Daniel Boone High School – 682 Units, Read­ing High School – 437 Units, Ama­ – 428 Units, Air Prod­ucts – 399 Units, Palmer­ton Com­mu­nity – 346 Units, Le­high Val­ley Health Net­work, I-78 & Cedar Crest – 333 Units, Le­high Univer­sity – 327 Units, Twin Val­ley High School – 305 Units, Schneider Elec­tric – 291 Units, Lib­erty High School – 289 Units, Mis­ter HotShine – 246 Units, Ca­reer In­sti­tute of Tech­nol­ogy – 243 Units, Kutz­town Univer­sity – 233 Units, West Ch­ester Univer­sity – 230 Units, Le­high Val­ley Health Net­work, Mack Boule­vard – 226 Units, Read­ing Health Sys­tem – 222 Units, Fleet­wood High School – 220 Units, Gover­nor Mif­flin High School – 217 Units, and St. James Lutheran Church (Coop­ers­burg) – 205 Units.
