Church Women’s Guild is sponsoring the concession stand. Rain date July 10. July 9 The History of Leesport: 2 p.m. at the Berks County Heritage Center. The small town of Leesport was settled in 1840, and the Leesport Area Historical Society started sharing the history of their town in 2003. Dexter Mengel, Secretary of the LAHS will present a power point program highlighting the 1930’s print shop, Leesport artifacts and Sunners softball team. July 11 “Capture the Moment” Digital Photography: Bring your electronic device (I-pod, Pad, Cell or Smartphone) to the Berks County Heritage Center at 6:30 p.m. and explore the park, learning how to shoot great photos outdoors. The evening will start with a brief slide presentation on what to look for when taking pictures; then professional photographer & instructor, Valerie Hoffman will lead us on an exploratory walk around the grounds of the park capturing great moments in nature. Through Aug. 23 Village Volleyball: in the village of Huff’s Church (across street from Huff’s Union Church building, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis). Every Wednesday from June 21 through Aug. 23 (weather permitting) from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Relaxed recreational volleyball. Church provides the place, net, ball, cold water (bring your water bottle to fill) and bathrooms. All ages; minimum of 2 persons needed to start a game.
