Area events July 13-16 Book Bonanza: The Friends of Berks County Public Libraries will host their annual Book Bonanza event on July 13-16 at the VF Outlet Center, Third Floor Red building. Due to renovations, this will be the final year Book Bonanza will call the VF Outlets home. Book Bonanza is an annual fundraiser co-sponsored by the Friends of Berks County Public Libraries and the American Association of University Women Reading branch. The organization
is a volunteer, non-profit association dedicated to supporting all of the 23 public libraries in the Berks County Library System. More than 100,000 books fill four large rooms to an overflowing capacity. All books in the main collection are priced no higher than $2. Visitors can even delve into the collectors’ section which contains signed author copies and first editions. These books of local interest, collectibles, and vintage books are priced as marked. The schedule is Thursday, July 13, 2- 6 p.m. – Opening Day and $10 Early Bird Access; Friday, July 14, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Saturday, July 15, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday, July 16, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. – $5 Bag of Books Sale. His toon books have been recognized by The New York Times, Publisher’s Weekly, and Booklist. Kevin’s books feature animals such as worms, fish, and pigeons, and have been praised as both fun and educational. July 18 to 22 Carnival: The Fleetwood Community Carnival will be running at the Fleetwood Community Park on Park Road in Fleetwood July 1822. Rides – Food – Midway – Entertainment. Tuesday: The Majestics (country from the 50s to the 90s and Ride all night for one price. Wednesday: Jeff Krick (Oldies Set & Elvis Concert Tribute) and Ride all night for one price. Thursday: “Erich Cawalla’s Uptown Band” (Jazz, Rock, Funk, R&B) and Ride all night for one price. Friday: The New Individuals (Variety & Oldies). The Blood Bank will also be on location and Fireworks. Saturday: Rubber Duck Regatta – 6 p.m., Flamin Dick and the Hot Rods and rain date for Fireworks.
