Robbery suspect in custody
Larry Houser, 24, Wyomissing, faces charges for BB&T Bank and Turkey Hill robberies
A suspect was taken into custody on Sept. 29 for the robberies at BB&T Bank and Turkey Hill Convenience Store in Fleetwood.
Fleetwood Police report that Larry Houser, 24, Wyomissing, was forensically linked to a robbery that occurred at Turkey Hill on Sept. 27 and an arrest warrant was issued. Houser turned himself in to Fleetwood Police and was in custody without incident on Sept. 29.
Fleetwood Police report that Houser will be also charged with the robbery at BB&T Bank, 46 West Main St. Fleetwood, that occurred on Sept. 23.
According to police, on Sept. 23, a man with his face covered by a mask entered BB&T Bank on the Main Street side. He was wearing a Buffalo Bills jacket with a hood that was blued and red in color, as well as gray sweatpants and white shoes that had a blue thick accent almost like a band or strap. Suspect is described as 5 foot 7 inches tall and weighing about 170 to 200 pounds. The suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, leaving the bank on the Richmond Street side. He was last seen heading southbound on Richmond Street.
Police report that at about 10:20 p.m. on Sept. 27 a man entered the Turkey Hill Convenience Store at 133 W. Main St., Fleetwood, and presented the clerk with a note which requested that she provide him with the money in the cash register. The suspect did not display a weapon, however, he implied that he had one in his pocket. The suspect fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was described as a man just over 6 feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark green jacket and covered his face with a purple scarf or bandanna. The suspect had short hair with a buzz cut style.
