Kutz­town loses to Twin Val­ley

» The Cougars’ home­com­ing game was con­trolled by new di­vi­sion foe Twin Val­ley on Sept. 29.

Twin Val­ley (1-0) jumped out to a 35-0 lead at half­time with its ground game run­ning for four touch­downs. Ma­son Ben­nett and David Sabul­sky each sur­passed the 100-yard mark rush­ing with Ben­nett go­ing for 122 yards and a TD while Sabul­sky had 111 and a score.

Kutz­town’s Caleb Riegel scored his team’s two touch­downs in the fourth quar­ter, one rush­ing in his 22-carry, 99-yard per­for­mance; the other through the air where he had seven catches for 90 yards.

Cougars quar­ter­back Char­lie Mad­docks went 11-for-21 for 117 yards with a TD and an in­ter­cep­tion.

» Alexan­der Graff had the lone goal for the Cougars in their loss to Berks Catholic Septem­ber 25th. Ryan Bauer as­sisted on the goal, while Brady Tucker had four saves in net for Kutz­town.


1» Brady Tucker had 10 saves in net in the Cougars tie with Tulpe­hocken on Septem­ber 28th. Alexan­der Graff had the lone goal for Kutz­town (2-4-1, 4-6-1) and was as­sisted by Isaac Men­gel.

CHRIS­TIAN 1 » The Cougars took down New Covenant Chris­tian in their non-league matchup on Septem­ber 25th. Emily and Sarah Bubben­moyer each scored for Kutz­town (3-6) and Kelsey Yob added a goal of her own. OLEY VAL­LEY 2, KUTZ­TOWN 0 » Kutz­town was un­able to over­come two sec­ond half goals in their loss to Oley Val­ley on Septem­ber 27th. Alexis Swavely had eight saves in the loss for the Cougars.

Boys Cross Coun­try

KUTZ­TOWN SWEEPS » The Cougars took down Fleet­wood 2431 and Muh­len­berg 22-37 in their meet on Septem­ber 26th. Matt Angstadt fin­ished third for Kutz­town with a time of 17:57. Michael Hill, Mitchell Brett and Alex Lanyi fin­ished fourth, fifth and eighth re­spec­tively for the Cougars who moved to 4-5 over-

all on the year.

Girls Cross Coun­try

Kutz­town sweeps >> The Cougars dom­i­nated their meet, sweep­ing the top three and plac­ing four run­ners in the top five. Kutz­town took down Muh­len­berg 15-50 and Fleet­wood 15-47 on Septem­ber 26th. Maria Mar­marou (21:45), Erika Mo­ri­arty (22:10) and Rachael McCoach (22:28) took first through third re­spec­tively while Robyn Hoch fin­ished fourth.

(OT) » Ash­ley Wentzel net­ted the game-win­ning goal to lift the Cougars to a non­league win over Pottstown

on Septem­ber 25th. The Cougars moved to 2-6 over­all on the year with the win. OLEY VAL­LEY 7, KUTZ­TOWN

0» The Cougars of­fense failed to gen­er­ate any shots on goal in their loss to Oley Val­ley on Septem­ber 28th. Olivyah Vanek did all she could stop­ping 19 shots while Jo­ce­lyn Miller added two saves.

Girls Ten­nis

KUZTOWN 6, FLEET­WOOD 1 » Led by Jil­lian Siefert, Bri­anna Wendling and Han­nah San­ders the Cougars were able to de­feat Fleet­wood in their league matchup on Septem­ber 25th. BERKS CATHOLIC 7, KUTZ­TOWN 0 » The Cougars were un­able to get a vic­tory in their Septem­ber 26th loss to the Saints. With the loss, Kutz­town dropped to 8-6 on the year.
