Remember when you were a kid and your parents dressed you up in your pajamas, and after a short drive in the car you found yourself living a dream; playing on a swing set at night while eating popcorn and candy in front of a movie screen?

It was an incredible era that went away.

Now, it appears to be returning with several venues throughout the state offering parents an opportunity to provide their children with the same experience they enjoyed as children.

Among the latest to host drive-in movies this summer are the Metroparks.

According to Friday’s announcement the first opportunity to see a movie under the stars will be July 25, at Willow Metropark, 23200 S. Huron Road in New Boston, which will be showing “The Secret Life of Pets 2.”

Admission is free.

All movies start at dusk or about 8:15 p.m.

Families can enjoy the movies and all the popcorn and snacks they wish to bring from the comfort and safety of their own vehicles, or socially distanced via a bicycle.

A Metroparks parks vehicle pass is required to enter any Metropark.
